This project is centered around making our community a place to be since as we have become our own problems.
As we all know, deforestation brings development to the world but what we forget in mind is that deforestation is rather a trait to each and every ones life in general.If we are to talk about the destruction of deforestation in the name of development, then we would be missing out the key factor here.
In the course of my project, I tried to ask myself so many questions such as if a tree is cut down in every home, we will realized that in a community of lets say 100 houses, therefore, 100 trees must have been cut down within that community which implies a forest has been destroyed. Consider a forest being wipe out, we are going to discovered that many other organism will be destroyed not only man who is the major factor here.From here we can now see the thousand of forest that has been destroyed around the world,Country,Towns and local community like mine(Muyuka). My project is not to discourage development but to paint a picture in the minds of many to realize the problems it is causing. If I was to fix this problem in a lesser extend, I will rather say let there be a reserve forest and the restriction of the cutting down of tress in each community and these laws must be respected.
In my community, I tried to figured out some of the disadvantages of deforestation.I realized the trees which are been cut out in large numbers turns to increase the chances of soil erosion.When I pay attention to the situation I discovered is really a problem in my community because it brings about soil erosion. When these trees are cut down,From my knowledge I discovered that it causes the soil to be exposed and relaxed to the wind action and rain action. Ones the land is exposed to these conditions, there is no doubt that land will experience some tensional and compressional forces thus giving an added advantage or advantages to soil erosion which is what is experience in my community. I also discovered that in my community, trees are the best consumers of sewage disposal and since these trees are cut down, sewage disposal will be left unconsumed and as such, bacterias will come in and decomposed them while releasing gases to the atmosphere which give birth to air pollution and bad to the environment. We do talk about global warming and climate change but neglect the fact that we are the cause of it all. When all these gases get into the atmosphere, they are bound to cause global worming and climate change. Biologist will tell us that plant uses some of these gases for respiration(Carbondioxide gas) and since these plants or trees are been cut, you can sense for yourself that is really bad to the environment. Some of these gases combines with excess Oxygen in the atmosphere there by forming Ozone, this is where we hear about the ozone layer depletion. However some of these gases release, looses or gain an extra electron and become very unstable and by so doing combines with water gas in the atmosphere while forming acid rain. These rain fall to the ground and destroy plants while causing the soil to loose its fertility by so doing renders the community to staff because of bad yield as a result of inadequate food supply and bad harvest. As we can discovered, global worming and climate change is due to artificial nature. Why do I say so? because the natural habitat has been destroyed thus giving rise to an artificial environment just because nature has been tempered with.
More so, these trees acts as wind fighters while remedying homelessness because they deviate the force of the wind and acts as protectors to our houses.These trees holds the soil together to prevent landslides.
It is in the light of all these issues I thought about implementing a project on trees planting in Muyuka.I took into consideration that if there are 20 streets in my community and in every street lets say at least 10 trees are planted, if we add the total number of trees planted in the community as per the number of streets, you will all bare with me that we have raise a forest unknowingly.ie 200 trees will be planted which is a forest I'm building in my project. Working hand in globe with the government in my community, I belief we would make a better world to live in while fixing other issues.
